Looking After Number One - A Selfless Endeavour
Updated: Nov 16
I appreciate that many of you will see that title and think “what’s he talking about? - he means a selfish endeavour, not a selfless one.
Well, I don’t. I do indeed, mean a selfless endeavour.
We live in a world where there are so much anger and frustration, where people are not allowed to be themselves for fear of judgement that they don’t fit some commonly accepted norm.
A world where we aren’t allowed to say what we want, speak as we find it, for fear of being shouted down and treated as a leper or extremist for having differing beliefs or views.
What this amounts to is a lot of division and confrontation, and as a result, people being utterly afraid of being themselves, being authentic, just in case it doesn’t match the modern-day societal norm.
This excluding peer and family norms and expectations, which further adds to the mix of toxic ingredients that make up people’s general discontent.
It’s no wonder anti-depressants are the most prescribed drugs today.
Imagine what would happen if people were more able to be themselves, speak as they find, and not tread on eggshells for fear of offence?
I tell you what I see. If the world were more accepting of others, of their views and beliefs, (so long as they weren’t dangerous), where people could brush it off and say “well they are fully entitled to their point of view”, the world would be in a lot better place.
Think about it, and if you were able to throw off the shackles, stick two fingers up at the convention, and be comfortable being you, you’d be a hell of a lot happier. Wouldn’t you?
Can you imagine if everyone lived that way? Semi-utopia I’d say.
Charity begins at home. So when I say, look after number one, I mean it. Let’s be what we want, do what we want, and say what we want. That way, we are living in peace with ourselves.
If you look after number one by being this authentic, others will reap the benefits, several-fold.
Now that’s what I call a Selfless endeavour, and this, is at the foundation of my message of Cojones.
Time to look after number one my friends.
I can show you about being authentic and living the life YOU want in my new book
